Uffizi articolo 1

“The Birth of Venus”, by Sandro Botticelli

Whenever I visit this museum, I always feel a skipped heartbeat, like the first time!

I enter inside the Uffizi Gallery and, as every time, I’m enraptured by the incredible emotion of being in one of the most important and visited museums of the world! I expect a real art travel, through centuries of painting, among wonderful masterpieces of all time! Passing through the halls of the museum, I feel won over by the beauty and richness of the works of art I see: the halls of Giotto and 13th-century painters, the masterpieces of the 14th-century Siena and Florentine schools, the colors and the elegance of the late- Gothic style, the first Florentine Renaissance, the beautiful paintings by Filippo and Filippino Lippi… And much more, in a fascinating travel through the history of painting!

In the Hall of Botticelli, I linger entranced in front of the Primavera (Allegory of Spring) and The Birth of Venus, masterpieces that I love and that, seen live and closely, have a charm that takes your breath away! I admire the masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci, as the delicate Annunciation, and I have a look to what I consider a real “gem” nestled among the rooms of the museum: the Tribune, mysterious and fascinating treasure chest of priceless rarities. Then I’m going to see live the wonderful Tondo Doni (Doni Madonna), Michelangelo’s masterpiece, some splendid works by Raphael, the Mannerist artists, the great Caravaggio… And much more! You never get tired of visiting a so rich and fascinating museum as the Uffizi Gallery is!
